Mary Williamson, wife of board member C. Frank Williamson, is showing the doll to a woman and two Girl Scouts. These dolls (as of 2019) are in the collection of the Media Historic Archives Commission.

Williamson was a board member from the library's founding in 1901 until his death on August 21, 1955, at the age of 94, according to his August 22, 1955 obituary in the Chester Times.
Rebecca Smedley, Media Free Library

According to her obituary from the Chester Times, July 11, 1950, Smedley served as librarian from 1906 to 1917. She never married, and lived at 44 E. Front Street, a block from the library.
E. Louise Kruse, librarian, Media Free Library

She served as librarian for 38 years, from 1919 until her death on January 11, 1958. She never married.
