Sign reads: Carpenter and Builder. The 1885 Media Directory lists William Newlin, carpenter, with a residence at the corner of Franklin St. and Manchester Ave. The shop pictured was most likely at a different location, probaby somewhere in Media.

Angora railroad bridge

Location is approximate. This bridge crossed a small stream called Thomas Run or Ameaseka Run, in West Philadelphia. The stream was buried in a sewer by the early 20th century and the railroad now crosses this valley at grade.
